After 3 years of discontinued production... "Lancer" comes back like this.
The British Automotive news site "Autoexpress" unveiled the intention of Mitsubishi Japan to revive its "Lancer", which was discontinued in 2015, but in a different sense.

Quoting Trevor Mann, chief executive officer of Mitsubishi, the site confirmed that they were seriously studying to put up a copy of the more than Lancer, to compete with Ford Fox and Toyota C-hr.

Trevor Mann said in his speech to the "autoexpress" that they are about to finalize the final touches of the new Lancer Car project.

He added that they have a long-term plan that extends up to 2025 to develop some models that carry a Mitsubishi marker and dispense with others.

In turn, Tsunhiro Konimoto, the company's chief designer, said that the work was going round the clock to develop all the current SUV from Mitsubishi and work on a new generation of small cars and a lancer car.

Konimoto stressed that the design of the C-segment does not necessarily mean that the new car would be a very traditional hatchback.

Mitsubishi is expected to use the CmC/D platform produced by the Alliance of April and Renault, which would support E-evolution, as well as the possibility of quadruple propulsion and the adoption of Mitsubishi's hybrid systems.
